Location

Sulgrave is a quiet village situated on the borders of North Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire, with its own historic Manor House, the ancestral home of George Washington, so there are many 'brown' Historic House signs to help you on your route - for detailed access we provide a location map  but you can also find directions to Sulgrave (OX17 2SQ) easily on Google Maps.

Stone Court can be accessed:-

  • from M40 (Jctn 11), following A422 towards Daventry and then follow the historic house (brown) sign for Sulgrave Manor. Turn left towards Thorpe Mandeville (immediately before a speed camera) but still following the Sulgrave Manor signs.  Once in village of Sulgrave follow road, past village Stores/PO bearing right towards Helmdon.  Stone Court is on RH side, just past slightly staggered cross roads (Church/Little Sts) and behind a low level stone wall.
  • from M1 (Jctn 15A, direction of Oxford) follow A43, bypassing Towcester and then a short while after a speed camera take slip road towards Helmdon and Sulgrave still following the historic house (brown) sign for Sulgrave Manor. Travel through Helmdon and, shortly after crossing a narrow bridge bear left towards Sulgrave. As you enter the 30mph limit and rise up towards the village centre you will find Stone Court, behind a low level stone wall on left hand side - over the cross roads means you have gone too far.

Parking

We can provide adequate parking for our guests but our entrance driveway is a right of way for other Sulgrave residents and their right of access at all times has to be respected so please ensure you park in front of our building rather than to the side or in front of our garage area.

All vehicles are parked at owners risk and we cannot accept any responsibility or liability in the event of any damage or loss.

Business Users

Stone Court is an excellent base for business users who would like an informal and comfortable place to stay whilst in the area for business. With wireless Broadband connection available in every room your office is only a click away.  Any problem with connection please let us know.

Safety, security, ‘phone reception and other     services/information

All rooms have a mains or battery operated smoke alarm and a fire safety notice. Guests will also have fire safety procedures explained on arrival. There are several strategically placed 'powder' fire extinguishers and a fire blanket in the kitchen.  The passage way towards exit door on ground floor has emergency lighting.  First floor bedrooms have ‘fire escape’ windows. There is a 'wind up' torch (non battery operated) in each guest bedroom in case of power failure.

Please familiarise yourself with our access statement

All rooms can be locked.

We do not provide laundry service but there is a utility room, with washing machine/dryer just off courtyard and we can provide iron and ironing board.  Guests can make arrangement to use these facilities during their stay.

We will offer ‘baby sitting’ service by arrangement and have portable cot, baby alarms and high chair.

Mobile ‘phone reception is satisfactory for Vodafone users but coverage for other providers is generally poor throughout the village. Arrangement can be made to use the house 'land line' phone and a hand set is located in the entrance passage, to ring 07771 524566 in the event of any difficulty.

Unfortunately we do not have a ‘guest’ lounge and we do not accept any pets (other than guide dogs for the disabled).
