  Introduction

This statement is a guide for those who might have concerns about access whilst staying at our B&B. If you need more information or clarification of anything below please visit our web site or contact us – details can be found at the end of this statement.

Stone Court

Stone Court, which sits in an attractive ¾ acre garden was built during early 1950s and is of stone and brick construction with several extensions to the original building having been added over recent years. It is a chalet style building with most rooms at ground level but with first floor accommodation. Within the building the floors are level and sound but because of the layout and the width of some doors, wheelchair access may be a problem.

Location

Sulgrave is a charming picturesque Northamptonshire village close to the border with North Oxfordshire. The nearest mainline station (Banbury - 0845 6005765) is 7 miles (10 minutes drive), which has reasonable parking and trains to London take from 65minutes. Is similar distance to M40, junction 11 and about 25 minutes drive to M1, junction 15A. Sulgrave village has a Community shop/post office (2 minutes walk), which can be available for cash withdrawals (otherwise nearest cash machine is 7 miles), a church and the Star Inn (5 minutes walk), a country style Public House with fine ales and an excellent restaurant.  There is a limited bus service (508), operated daily, excluding Sunday and BHs, by SMS travel (01327 355118) between Banbury and Brackley .  This is generally a low floor, easy access bus and time from Sulgrave (Magpie Road) to Banbury or Brackley is approx 25 minutes.

Car Parking

There is ample parking for residents to the front of the property. The surface is mainly gravel and fairly level although there is a slight rise in the pathway from your car to the E side (Guest) entrance of the property. Guests are requested to park facing on to the house at a slight angle leaving enough space for other cars to park alongside safely. All vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk and we accept no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage that occurs to any vehicle or its contents whilst that vehicle is on our premises, whether permission has been granted or not.  For guest safety when arriving after dark, the outside of the property is fitted with low level illumination between dusk and dawn.

Entrance

The guest entrance and reception is at the side of the house, just a short walk from the car park and there is a covered porch to the entrance door.  The porch area is automatically illuminated with a security light during hours of darkness. There is a doorbell (approx 150cm from ground) to the RH side of the wooden entrance door (83cm wide) to attract attention.  There is a small threshold step (7.5cm high x 18cm deep) into the entrance hallway.  We are happy to help with access and luggage if you 'phone 07771 524566 02 01295 760818 to let us know approx time of arrival.

Both bedroom doors are 72cm wide.  The hall leads into the dining room and reception area, all one level.                                                                                         The dining room is tiled, with under floor heating and has one long refectory table.  Breakfast is served at this table (73cm high).                 Both 'en-suite' bedrooms on ground floor are carpeted and well equipped for your comfort, which includes tea/coffee making facility (electric kettle). hairdryer and LCD TV with DVD and Freeview.   Bed linen and pillows are hypoallergenic as far as is practicable.  Beds are fitted with duvets but blankets can be provided if this is preference and extra towels, blankets and pillows are available.   The third bedroom, which is located on first floor is reached by a narrow (70cm wide) stairway leading from far side of the dining room.  There are 12 steps (20cm high x 23cm deep) to the landing and bedroom door is 75cm wide.
